Robb, your essay rightly underscores the missing depth-dimension in discourse about the AI-alignment problem, which is typically conceived in terms of a flatland model lacking any historical/hierarchical structure. How to move your integrative model into the discourse ASAP? Your proposed essay is one important step, but how to encourage others to read it? Keep up the good work!

found this paper deeply thought-provoking, especially your critique of “flatness” in current AI alignment models and your framing of values as a developmental topography rather than a fixed optimization target.

What resonated strongly for me was the recognition that human beings do not simply operate from isolated preferences or static value positions. In my own work as an Akashic Records Reader and teacher of Energy Mastery and Soul Sovereignty, I have been increasingly observing the importance of what I call “The Field” — the relational and energetic atmosphere that forms between people, groups, systems, and even collective narratives.

What strikes me is that much of modern discourse — technological, psychological, and spiritual alike — still tends to flatten human experience into surface behaviors, stated preferences, or individualized cognition, while missing the deeper relational and developmental structures organizing perception itself.

Your paper approaches this philosophically and architecturally. My own observations arise more phenomenologically and relationally through decades of working with people directly. But I found fascinating parallels, particularly around:

developmental pluralism,

hidden organizing structures,

perspectival limitation,

and the inadequacy of purely surface-level models of meaning and value.

I was especially struck by your movement from “alignment as convergence” toward what you call “meta-alignment” — not aiming toward a single fixed point, but developing the capacity to navigate complexity with structural integrity.

That feels deeply relevant not only to AI, but to human relationships, institutions, spirituality, and collective life more broadly.

Thank you for sharing such ambitious and important work publicly. It gave me a great deal to reflect on.
